Sweet Tomato Chutnee

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes 4 medium
  • Dry red chilli 1 small
  • Mustard seeds
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp.
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Dates 4-5 pieces seedless
  • Raisins (kishmish) 8-10
  • Sugar 4-5 tsp.

Directions

  • Cut tomatoes into small pieces.
  • Heat little oil in a pan. Add red chilli.
  • When the chiili turns blackish, add mustard seeds.
  • After the mustard seeds splutter, add tomatoes.
  • Immediately add turmeric powder, very little salt and bay leaves.
  • Fry it untill tomatoes are soft. Then dates and kishmish.
  • Stir and mix up. When mango cake strats melting, add sugar.
  • When sugar melts completely, take off the flame and allow it to cool.
  • After it has reached the room temperature, keep it in the fridge and serve chilled
